A naval tradition dating back to the days of Admiral Horatio Nelson allows the baptism of naval commanders’ children to be baptized in a naval ship bell. In 1987, Father Tom Mc Entee performed the baptism of Philippe Langlais. Philippe’s name was inscribed on the bell for posterity along with six other youngsters, children of the ship’s company members.
