Event: Centennial Collective Art Mural

Date: Monday, November 1 to 28   

Time: Library hours

Location: Beaconsfield Library, 303 Beaconsfield Blvd.

Description: From November 1 to 14, members of the Lakeshore Artists Association will create a collective mural featuring scenes of life in Beaconsfield. The public is invited to watch as a blank canvas is transformed over a period of 2 weeks into a remarkable work of art. The final work will be unveiled on Sunday, November 14 and will remain on exhibit until November 28. www.lakeshoreartistsassociation.ca

Event: Exhibition ― 100 Years of Quilting

Description: An exhibition of quilts from 1910 to the present with hands-on activities and tea room. The Beaconsfield Quilters Guild will exhibit antique quilts as well as their modern counterparts. Come marvel at how this traditional craft has developed into a unique form of art!

Event: Concert ― Rafael Zaldivar "Life Directions"                 

Date: Sunday, November 21

Location: Beaurepaire United Church, 25 Fieldfare

Description: Born in Cuba and raised in a family of musicians, Rafael Zaldivar took up the piano at the age of 10. He settled in Canada at the age of 22 and went on to obtain a Masters Degree at McGill.  With incredible dexterity and a percussive approach, he creates a modern and original jazz with a Cuban flavor. Presented in collaboration with the Conseil des Arts de Montréal en tournée.

Event: Centennial Community Tile Mural                                   

Date: Sunday,  November 14

Time: from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Location: Beaconsfield Recreation Centre

Description: You’re invited to leave your mark! Come and take part in this special centennial art project. Bring your family, friends and your creativity to the Recreation Centre and paint a ceramic tile. Selected tiles will be assembled into a commemorative centennial tile mosaic.
