Norma Dobridge celebrates 100 years

Norma Dobridge (Lake)

March 20, 1910

Norma was born in Anguilla, West Indies.  She was one of 9 siblings, daughter of Captain Orlando Lake and Ruth Lake.  Her father sailed three-masted schooners and her family was involved in inter-island trading.  Her education in Antigua led to a career in catering at some of the most luxurious hotels in Barbados.

In 1965, she married Ron Dobridge and moved to Canada to reside on Claude Street, in Beaconsfield. Norma was very involved with different volunteer groups during her years in Beaconsfield, including VON Café in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, the Day Kerry Chapter of the I.O.D.E., etc.  She continued to live in her home until 2004 when she moved to Viva Life Residence, remaining in Beaconsfield.

Her family and friends celebrated her 100th birthday on March 20, 2010 with her at the residence.

Happy birthday, Norma!
